  4. What a cute idea! And I'm so glad Carol didn't leave the toilet seat up, I'd hate to think she was that rude. :D

    Happy weekend, Julie!

  5. Uh oh, I might have broken into the liquor cabinet. :(

  6. Yes, I imagine she is a wonderful guest!

  7. LOL! I love this! You were an awesome host, too. I see you haven't found the little gift I left out behind the garage. Only feed it once a day. That's important.

  8. Thanks so much Shelly!

    I really appreciate it Miranda!

Arleen - That's quite a compliment coming from such a funny lady!

Carole - So true, and I've really enjoyed getting to know Carol better.

    Delores - I couldn't agree more!

Julie - Other thoughts would be racing through my head as well! Thanks Julie!

Libby - Just as long as you didn't find my chocolate stash!

Alex - Well she could have been a little less entertaining!

Carol - I thought she was from you, and as usual it was timed perfectly! She gave birth a few hours ago, so now my nest won't be empty when my kids leave! Thanks for being so thoughtful Carol!

  10. No embarrassing photos on Facebook - that's a plus.

  11. Haha, Julie. I love the list! Especially the ones about not breaking into the drinks cabinet and keeping her conversations to 1000 words or less. The last thing you want is an inebriated guest who talks too much. Jush shlike me…hic!

Diane - Hopefully, they won't turn up later!

Val - I think you'd still be the life of the party - hics and all!

Luanne - Carol really came through for me during a tough week. Thanks Luanne!

Mary - I know that we both appreciated your visit, and Carol does have a great sense of humor! Thanks Mary!

  15. If only there were more guests who could be like that.

Loud snoring is one of my pet hates. I had a quest in the spare room and he snored like an earthquake all flaming night. I felt like getting up and giving him a little 'pillow over the head' therapy. I was exhausted the next day, thanks to him.

  16. Julie, this is cute! A fitting tribute. Carol is a great person!

  18. Rum-Punch Drunk - I know what you mean, because my husband snores. Funny thing is that I'm so used to it that I still have a hard time sleeping while he's away.

Michelle - Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to meet her. Though I almost feel like I did, as she really helped out by checking in during a very difficult week. Thanks Michelle!

    Thanks so much Susan!

  19. Here's a wrinkle (besides my butt) about that whole "toilet seat up" thing. Mrs. Penwasser has complained that I do that, for sure, but....she also complains when I put the lid down. At first I was tempted to call her an OCD Crazy Person, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized she had a point. I guess plopping yourself down in the middle of the night to take a tinkle right onto a plastic lid would be a bit aggravating.
Score another one for Mrs. Penwasser.

    1. Al - I'm glad that Mrs. Penwasser always keeps you on your toes! Good thing you thought that "OCD Crazy Person" thing through. I'm sure that very thought has crossed my husband's mind many times too!

  21. Hi Julie and Carol,

Ten fabulous reasons that make me realise I wish I could get a guest like Carol to visit me. Heck, when somebody visits me, I wonder why they spend more time on their mobile phone aka cell phone, talking to somebody else.

I always put the toilet seat back down. I'm well trained.

    Speaking of, 'Farcebook', watch this......

  22. Munir - You are absolutely right about Carol!

Gary - They were probably just talking about all of your wonderful qualities! Penny told me that you were "well trained" Gary!
