A New Zenith

Zoom in on April 1st,
No fools showed up for the meeting.
Hosts were gathered all about,
Could not have staged a warmer greeting.

Zealous writers all in tow,
Nervous energy glistened.
Arlee Bird tossed out the first word
While everyone attentively listened.

Zipping through the alphabet,
The letters quickly flowed.
Followers danced around the Web,
While melodious notes started to unfold.

Zero days, the end is here,
Alliances formed everlasting.
Zonked out from lack of sleep,
As the zany euphoria is passing.

Note: This is an edited repost from my first A to Z in 2011.

  2. Good one, Julie. After a month of these posts, do you find yourself just naturally talking in rhymes?

Congratulations on completing another year of the challenge. You did really well!

  3. Yvonne - Thanks for sharing another A to Z with me! I really appreciate all of your daily visits.

Arleen - Are you a fellow creature of the night? Nah, you're probably an early riser.Thank you for being such a wonderful cheerleader! Though you didn't participate in the challenge, you've gone out of your way to follow me every single day! Sorry I had to slip one more rhyme in. Thanks for all you do, Arleen!

  5. Congratulations on crossing the finish line and completing this year's A to Z Challenge, dear Julie. You did it in style, too. The best thing about it from my perspective is that it somehow enabled our paths to cross and I look forward to cultivating an "everlasting alliance" with you.

  11. That zany euphoria is followed by exhaustion and possible mental breakdown. At least that was how it was for me. You've got your mother, so your experience might be totally different;)

  16. GEM JULIE ~
That was a great little 'A To Z' wrap-up (with Arlee Bird tribute included).

    Now on to new bidnizz...

[NEWS FLASH: I've just had the idea to make the "new bidnizz" a blog bit at my site because it's probably going to be too lengthy for a comment on yer blog.]

  17. ZOWIE!!! We made it! I must admit I had to ZoomZoomZoom to get XYandZ done, but it's done. Now I'm in the Zapped Zone for several days...maybe weeks! Loved your Z poem and all the rest of your entertaining and writerly (is that a word...my auto-check says no) way with words. Thanks for all your visits...I'm so glad to meet you through Joanne and the Challenge.

  19. If Shakespeare were alive he would have given this poem a big "Zounds!", Julie. I've got a few ideas for keeping the zany euphoria going.

Welcome to "Z-day"! (Time to watch the iZombie television series?)
Hope to see you at the after party. I'm looking forward to when the Reflections Linky List opens on Monday May 4th.
I love what you did here! Excellent tribute post.

  22. Hey Julie,

You did it with poetic prose. I Zee what you did there. I had a Zenith colour TV, way back when.

Oh no, guess what, I seem my alphabet adversary has mentioned reflection posts. Enjoy, eleven months of alphabet reflection posts....

    Gary :)

  25. Gorilla - I'm afraid to ask what your ideas are! I'm sure the manager of the safari camp knows a thing or two about "going ape." Thanks Gorilla!

J Lenni - Good to see you again, J Lenni! I'll sign up soon for the Reflections post. Thanks for being an Ambassador, and for the kind words!

Lee - This could be my backup Reflections post, if I have Internet problems next week. Thanks for being the "host with the most," and for bringing us another successful A to Z! I also hope you get some much needed rest, Lee.

Gary - It's nice of you to give Penny the day off! We also had a Zenith color TV. I honestly don't think eleven months of Reflection Posts are enough. Next year we should simultaneously Reflect daily during A to Z. Well I guess that takes care of my next "R" post! Thanks Gary!

Emma - Thank you so much, Emma!

Birgit - It's been great doing A to Z with you, Birgit! You did an outstanding job honoring the famous film stars. Thanks Birgit!

Lonnie - It's so nice to meet you via A to Z! Though it ended yesterday, I still have a lot of catching up to do, and I look forward to visiting you. Thanks Lonnie!

Oh Robyn, Oh Martha,......what's a girl to do? I'll miss tuning in daily to laugh at your gags, or on some days, just to gag! I had a blast doing A to Z with you, and you certainly deserve the outstanding freshman award! Thanks Robyn! Shabbat Shalom!

  38. Hey Julie! I am just blitzing through for the A-to-Z Road Trip. I really enjoyed reading your posts for the challenge. I loved your poetry, especially the humorous narratives! And I loved the cultural posts you made. I even learned a few new things!

I did the challenge over at Promptly Written. This blog, The Rattling Bones,
    is my new one.

I wanted to sign up for your email list (since I am on WordPress) but I couldn't find one on your page. Still, I've got your blog on my Blog Blitz list, so I will see you next April! ~Lori~
